This 12 hour Introductory Course is designed to give the Licensed Massage Therapist a firm working foundation in the therapeutic uses of Essential Oils through inhalation and manual application. Basic blending skills are addressed, with a strong focus on safety for both Therapist and Client.

This course will cover:

  • Essential Oil production and quality
  • Differences between grades of Essential Oils
  • An inexpensive method to determine the purity of many oils
  • High Resolution Gas Chromatography and what it shows
  • Discussion of single Essential Oils by the therapeutic use of each
  • Contra-indications and safety factors
  • Inhalation and mental and emotional effects
  • Hands-on application of Essential Oils in Massage Therapy
  • Review of safety factors
  • Abdominal, joint, and face techniques
  • Aromatherapy as an adjunct to other holistic therapies
  • Basic blending calculations
  • Creating your own blends
NOTE: This class will be a blend of demonstration, hands on experience and lecture.
