Lymphatic massage is a gentle, often rhythmic type of bodywork developed in Europe and is growing in popularity in the
United States. Several forms of lymphatic massage are used to enhance immune function, treat edema (fluid retention) and lymphedema
and for esthetic applications.

This course will cover:
- Pain refief
- Deep relaxation
- Requested for Detoxification
- Applied in many conditions, from acne to wrinkle reduction
- Speeds recovery and improves outcomes after elective surgery
- Used by athletes to speed recovery
- So gentle and non-invasive that it is often applied and used in post-surgical situation or when many other forms of
massage would be contraindicated
Richard Schekter comes to Educating Hands with a background as a scientist - a Marine Biologist and Biological
Oceanographer at the University of Miami. As a Licensed Massage Therapist, Richard maintains a private practice, works in a prestigious
hotel spa and is one of the core therapists at Educating Hands Professional Massage Therapy Clinic. Richard teaches several classes at
Educating Hands, mainly in Anatomy and Physiology, Commonly Encountered Conditions and Massage. Richard has been teaching the structure
and function of the lymphatic system since 1997, and performs lymphatic massage as part of his diverse practice in bodywork.
