Lymphatic Massage


Lymphatic massage is a gentle, often rhythmic type of bodywork developed in Europe and is growing in popularity in the United States. Several forms of lymphatic massage are used to enhance immune function, treat edema (fluid retention) and lymphedema and for esthetic applications.

    Richard Schekter comes to Educating Hands with a background as a scientist - a Marine Biologist and Biological Oceanographer at the University of Miami. As a Licensed Massage Therapist, Richard maintains a private practice, works in a prestigious hotel spa and is one of the core therapists at Educating Hands Professional Massage Therapy Clinic. Richard teaches several classes at Educating Hands, mainly in Anatomy and Physiology, Commonly Encountered Conditions and Massage. Richard has been teaching the structure and function of the lymphatic system since 1997, and performs lymphatic massage as part of his diverse practice in bodywork.
